Organic Valerian Roots
Botanical Name: Valeriana Officinalis L.
1. Treat insomnia: Valerian root has been shown to increase Gamma-aminobutyric acid levels in the brain which can in turn not only reduce the amount of time taken to fall asleep, it can also improve the quality of sleep too.
2. Treat anxiety: The valerenic acid and valerenol contained in the Valerian root act as anti-anxiety agents, stabilizing the central nervous system.
3. Muscle relaxant: Valerian root acts as a muscle relaxant. It can help ease menstrual cramps, and can even calm the severe uterine muscle contractions experienced by some women during menstruation.
4. Promote heart health: Valerian root has been shown to increase Gamma-aminobutyric acid levels. This is shown to also helps regulate blood pressure, hence decreasing the risk of heart attack or stroke.
Avoid: Do not use it excessively. Do not use it during pregnancy.
